Montefiore offers dental coverage through Cigna to help you maintain a healthy smile—because your oral health is a key part of your overall well-being.
The dental plan options available to you vary based on your role. You may waive coverage, or enroll in employee-only or family coverage. Find more details about the options available to you on the HealthyME Benefits Center.
Finding In-Network Care
Cigna’s Total DPPO Network includes Montefiore’s own Department of Dentistry. Using in-network dentists helps lower your out-of-pocket costs thanks to pre-negotiated fees, but you’re not required to stay in-network.

Out-of-Network Care
You can choose any licensed dentist, but if you go out of network, your costs may be higher. That’s because the plan reimburses based on Cigna’s Fee Schedule, not the full billed amount. You’ll be responsible for any balance beyond what the plan covers.

Taking care of your vision is an important part of your overall health, and Montefiore’s vision plan through UnitedHealthcare helps you take action to do just that.
The plan includes coverage for an annual eye exam and vision hardware, such as glasses or contact lenses. You can choose between two options, depending on your needs.
You’ll pay 100 percent of the cost for vision coverage using pre-tax dollars, and you’ll get the best value when you use an in-network provider.

- Polycarbonate lenses for children at no additional cost
Special Vision Support Benefits
Montefiore’s plan includes added support for women and children to promote healthy vision through all life stages:
Children’s Eye Care Program (up to age 13)
- A second eye exam each year at no additional cost
- A second pair of glasses (frames and lenses) if their prescription changes by 0.5 diopter or more
Maternity Vision Benefit
- A second eye exam each year for pregnant or breastfeeding women
- A new pair of glasses if your prescription changes by 0.5 diopter or more
No proof of pregnancy is required.
