Access Your Annual Open Enrollment Guide on the new HealthyME Benefits Center

Annual Open Enrollment Runs From November 10 Through November 24, 2025.

This is your once-a-year opportunity to update your health and insurance benefits to ensure you have the coverage you need and are making the most of what Montefiore offers. The elections you make take effect January 1, 2026.

Montefiore’s HealthyME benefits program is designed to provide the coverage you need, the support you deserve and the best value possible. Starting January 1, 2026, we’re making several enhancements to help you get even more from your benefits:

Simplified experience with Anthem: Your medical and prescription drug benefits will be managed by Anthem, streamlining your coverage and making it easier to navigate your care.
New administrator for tax-advantaged accounts: MyChoice Accounts will help you manage your Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), commuter benefits and other tax-advantaged accounts to improve service and support.
Enhanced online benefits experience: Our new benefits website will make Annual Open Enrollment easier and provide tools and resources throughout the year to help you make informed decisions.

Anthem Will Administer Our Prescription Drug Coverage

NEW FOR 2026: Anthem Will Administer Our Prescription Drug Coverage

Beginning January 1, 2026, our prescription drug benefits will be managed by Anthem, replacing Express Scripts. The Anthem team will help you through every step of your pharmacy experience, from understanding your coverage to finding the most affordable options and filling your prescriptions in the most convenient way.

Prior to January 1, Anthem will contact you if there’s a change to how your current medication is covered and with information on how to fill prescriptions through mail-order or their Specialty Pharmacy.

The prescription drug benefit through Anthem includes:

A combined medical and prescription drug ID card
Starting January 1, 2026, sign into anthem.com or use the Sydney Health app to manage your pharmacy benefits to find a pharmacy, including all in-house pharmacies and the Montefiore Specialty Pharmacy, check your drug list and compare medication costs, set up home delivery and refill prescriptions, review your claims and check your copay, deductible and coinsurance amounts.

MyChoice Accounts is Our New Administrator

In 2026, our tax-advantaged accounts will be administered by MyChoice Accounts, sponsored by Businessolver, replacing HealthEquity WageWorks. If you sign up for multiple tax-advantaged accounts for 2026, you’ll be able to use your MyChoice Accounts debit card for eligible expenses across your accounts. You’ll be able to manage your accounts, view your balances, submit claims for reimbursement and submit receipts when needed on by clicking “Enroll Now or View Current Coverage” in the upper-right corner of this site and the MyChoice Mobile App.

Important! Due to their pre-tax nature and the rules set by the IRS, these accounts can only be used to pay specific expenses. View the eligible expense tool from MyChoice to see what your funds can be used for.

Keep all your receipts for any purchases you make with your MyChoice Accounts debit card and upload them when requested. Even if you use your card at the eye doctor to access your Healthcare FSA balance, for example, you may need to provide the receipt to MyChoice Accounts as proof that you have made any eligible purchase. If you do not provide a receipt or pay back the expense by March 31 of the following year, that amount will then become a taxable benefit (called imputed income) on your paycheck.

Updated Contribution Limits for FSA and Dependent Care FSA

The IRS has updated contributions limits for FSAs in 2026.

For the Healthcare FSA or Limited Purpose FSA: You may contribute up to $3,400 for the 2026 calendar year.

For the Dependent Care FSA: You may contribute up to $7,500* each calendar year.

*Please note that Dependent Care FSAs are subject to IRS nondiscrimination testing to ensure that the plan does not disproportionately benefit highly compensated employees (HCEs). If the plan fails nondiscrimination testing, contributions may need to be reduced for HCEs before the end of the plan year.

Who is eligible to participate in Annual Open Enrollment?

You are eligible to participate in Annual Open Enrollment if you are a regular or temporary employee of Montefiore and work at least 50% of a full-time schedule.

Participation is available to employees in the following groups who meet the work schedule requirement:

Non-Union Employees
The following 1199SEIU groups:
- 1199 Physical Therapists
- 1199 Physician Assistants
- 1199 Registered Nurses
House Staff
Nurses represented by the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA)
Security Guards (SSOBA)

Introducing the HealthyME Benefits Center

Montefiore is introducing the HealthyME Benefits Center to make it easier for you and your family members to explore, manage and enroll in your HealthyME benefits.

To access, click the Enroll Now or View Current Coverage button at the top right of this page. From there, follow the Single Sign-On (SSO) link to login easily using your Montefiore username and password to access the secure part of the site to enroll in and manage your benefit programs. This is where you will go to:

Enroll in benefits during Annual Open Enrollment or when you experience a qualifying life event
Make allowed changes throughout the year
Use the decision support tool to choose the right plan for you
Manage your tax-advantaged accounts (e.g. Flexible Spending and Commuter)
View and update life insurance beneficiary information
Connect with a live representative for general benefits assistance
Get 24/7 answers to your general benefit questions from Sofia, your AI-powered assistant

Join the HealthyME team in person or virtually for questions and support during Annual Open Enrollment, including 3 Wellness Fairs with our benefits and Montefiore well-being partners.

What Happens if you Don't Enroll

If you don’t enroll during Annual Open Enrollment, you may miss out on the opportunity to customize your coverage based on your needs and budget for 2026.

However, most of your current coverage will carry over to 2026, with one exception: You must take action to save tax-free money in a Flexible Spending Account.

Important Note about Beneficiaries

During this year's Annual Open Enrollment, it is especially important that you add beneficiary information for your life and accident insurance, since what you have on file now will not carry over as we transition to the HealthyME Benefits Center. Keeping your beneficiary information up to date is one of the most responsible things you can do to protect your family and guarantee your life and accident benefits are distributed according to your wishes.
