Montefiore provides resources to help associates resolve problems that may be affecting them, their performance, behavior, or colleagues. Associates, volunteers, or their supervisors may contact and use the following support resources at Montefiore:

  • “Caring for Yourself While Caregiving” Guide: A resource guide in English and Spanish to help people caring for a loved one also care for themselves.
  • Caregiver Support Centers
  • Healing Loss Workshop: A workshop retreat for Montefiore associates to help you process loss you have experienced in both personal and professional contexts.
  • Relaxation Hotline: Take a quick break to listen to one of four brief relaxation tracks online or at 718-920-CALM.
  • HealthyME Psychotherapy & Art Therapy Services: All associates have access to free and confidential short-term individual sessions from a licensed art therapist for verbal psychotherapy or art therapy consultations.   • Spiritual Care:
    • The chapels at Moses and Wakefield and the synagogue at Montefiore are available for prayer, meditation and serenity seven days a week.
    • When spiritual services are needed, requests can be made by calling the Operator, or by reaching out to Customer Service at 718-920-4943.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available 24/7 to help all non-1199 associates and employees of Montefiore/Einstein and anyone in their household, whether or not they are covered under a health plan sponsored by Montefiore. The EAP is offered at no cost to you. Counseling and consultations are provided through an independent organization to assure that the help you receive is completely confidential.

  • The 1199 SEIU Member Assistance Program (MAP) has trained social workers, counselors and other professionals on staff who can get you the help you need for the problems that can put your health and your job in jeopardy. You can find treatment for drug, alcohol or mental health issues, and referral to community or social service resources if you’re having problems with housing, domestic violence or legal issues. The Member Assistance Program is provided through the 1199 Benefit Fund.
